Do I have
to exercise everyday?
The answer
is simple: how motivated are you? You can achieve success
over a long period of time doing the exercises a few
minutes a day. You can begin intensively, exercising
everyday, and then reduce to a couple of times a week.
You can do them regularly. The choice is all yours. The
program is for you to enjoy and see results. How many
times a day should I exercise?
Ideally, one
good program (5-10 minutes) series will begin to show
effects but it is not necessary to spend that much time.
It is often worthwhile to exercise a short time, 1-2
min., several times a day. Spread out your exercise
program so that it is convenient. Do any exercise, any
time you think of it, during any part of the day...not
just at home or in your office but also in your car, an
elevator, waiting in a line, etc.
Will I
make new wrinkles during the exercise?
No. The
exercises are designed to provide an anchor on the skin
to keep it smooth during exercises. If creases do appear
during an exercise, do an exercise with massage, or
massage alone, afterwards. This will smooth the area.
Ultimately, once your muscles are back in shape, you will
notice that the creases that appear during exercise
disappear immediately when relaxing. If you notice
residual creases (very rare) that seemed not to be
present, gently massage over them in an upward and
outward motion.
Do I need
to apply any special creams, lotions or gels?
No. However,
it is always wise to cleanse and moisturize your skin on
a daily basis. There is nothing special to be purchased.
However, rather than just rubbing cream onto your face,
why not do an exercise at the same time?
How much
time a day do I need to set aside for the face mattersŪ
program?
Depending on
your enthusiasm, anywhere from 3-20 minutes/day. The
times can be divided up throughout the day rather than in
one block. Design your own schedule. For instance,
exercise eyes one day, upper face one day and neck
another or; skip a day or two. Once your face is toned,
you will notice when it is time to exercise, and you will
do it spontaneously.
How long
should one hold a flex?
The
demonstration and general program show rapid
flex-and-relax sequences. The face enjoys variety. Thus,
it is also worthwhile to hold the flex longer, especially
when there is a counter-balance with the fingers. Hold as
long as it is comfortable or until the muscle begins to
quiver. That is when it is getting fatigued.
How many
repetitions should be done?
It depends
on how much time you can take: the more, the better. As
many as 50-100 repetitions is not too much, especially if
they are short exercises. However, don't worry if you
don't have time. Just a few repetitions a day is also
useful, especially if spread throughout the day.
How can I
remember to do the exercises?
Stick a
small dot on your watch so that whenever you check the
time you will be reminded.
Do I need
to cut my fingernails?
Not
necessarily; however, this program incorporates massage,
pressure points and muscle activation. In all three
cases, the fingernails may come into contact with the
skin, at some point in time.
How long
will it take before seeing progress?
This is up
to you: Normally, anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. It
may be interesting to take a close-up photo before
starting and then take one per month for the next three
months.
Can I do
exercises without hand placements?
Yes, for
most of them; unless they require massage.
Is it
possible to change an exercise and still get a similar
result?
Yes, but
only if you have learned to move the desired muscle
independently (as much as is possible) and know what and
why you are exercising the muscle.
Can I
only do massage?
Massage
alone is good. In fact, there are a couple of exercises
that mainly consist of massage. Always massage in an
upward direction, away from gravitational pull. Avoid
pulling down on the skin.
What will
negatively affect the success of the program?
Muscle
relaxants, excessive alcohol or any anesthetic procedure
will result in a slow down: as well as not drinking
enough water, smoking (which affects skin circulation),
habitual facial grimace or very high levels of stress.
Can I do
the exercises without the computer?
Absolutely.
Once you have learned them, do them anywhere: The more
often, the more effective. A minute several times a day
is much better than no minutes at all. It is not
necessary to dedicate significant blocks of time. Make it
easy, fit them into your day and enjoy yourself.
